If you need to train up for the Gym Leader Brock hit up the grassy area for awhile then head on into Pewter City.
Well, the biggest reason for getting your first Gym Badge is you cannot leave the town without it. There are no goodies inside for you but its informative. Brock is the leader of the Gym here. He has a level 12 Geodude and a level 13 Onix. Brock also gives you TM39 Rock Tomb. This stretch of Route 4 is fairly straight forward. Be warned, you cannot come back to this area once jumping over the last hump for quite some time. Dont forget the two hidden items. If you have a need for Mega Punch or Mega Kick just talk to these two fellows. They will teach one of your Pokemon these moves only once, choose carefully. After picking up the single Pokeall item, just keep heading East and you will be in.
Misty rules this gym with a level 18 Staryu and a level 21 Starmie. If you win she rewards you with the Cascadebadge. The house in the Northeast corner has been robbed, so you cannot go in until after the investigation. Keep this house in mind later in the game, it is the only place to get a Jynx, but you need to trade for a Polywhirl. Nugget bridge is the first thing you will face upon entering Route 24, it contains five trainers and one Rocket Grunt but once completed you get a shiny new Nugget as a prize.
After the Nugget Bridge event you will only find one trainer, one PokeBall item, and one hidden item. To get the item behind this trainer you can either come back later with HM01 CUT and cut the tree, or you can let the trainer see you from a distance so he is forced to walk away from his spot to battle you. After the battle, just go get your prize. With an abundance of trainers there is no shortage of experience here, there is one PokeBall item and four hidden items.
A lot is going to go on inside this little seaside cabin, so try to keep up Up first, the PokeManiac BILL has managed to turn himself into a Pokemon You need to help him to score a required item. After rescuing BILL, take a trip through his machine and see where you end up. Except the only Mew in the game. It is level 7 so be careful not to beat it. This girl gives you the VS Seeker, a device that lets you battle trainers you have already fought. The girl in the center house wants to trade a Spearow for the only Farfechd in the game. Run back to Cerulean and grab your Bicycle. After cleaning up in Vermilion, head south to the dock and flash your S.
Ticket to get on the S. Anne cruise liner. There is a literal boatload of trainers and PokeBall items on this ship. There are also 4 hidden items to find and a few notable events.
Your next Rival battle happens here. As you enter from Vermilion City, one of the rooms right in front of the door has a nice lady willing to let you heal your Pokemon in her bed. Once you are finished on the boat head in to talk to the Captain. He is not feeling well. After restoring health to the Captain, it is time to say good-bye to the S. Anne and head back in to Virmilion City and out the East side to Route We come here to train before our 3rd gym leader battle.
There are 10 Trainers to battle, two PokeBall items and one hidden item. Three of the four Pokemon in this area are new so spend some time catching them. Continuing east is a dead end. The only notable thing on Route 11 is Diglett Cave. Head on in and follow the linear path back to Route 2. The man in this house is willing to trade an Abra for the only Mr. Mime in the game. Head inside the building to the south and one of Professor Oaks aids has something for you, if you have caught 10 Pokemon.
After picking up some goodies on the ground and from inside the building it is time to head back to Vermilion City and face Lt. Surge commands this gym with his level 18 Pikachu, level 21 Voltorb, and level 24 Raichu.
Talk to the little girl in the southernmost house to be sent on a quest on an island far to the south. Trainer battles are illegal so you will find no trainers here. But due to the lack of violence, the Pokemon here are unique compared to the rest of the world. Inside the house on the shore, the woman here will take the letter and give you a Blue Flute. The guard wont let you into the town here Check out the fence line to get past him. If you are up for a challenge you can, however, land another legendary Pokemon, but it wont be an easy road.
Being a trainerless town, there is no reason for a PokeCenter, so just rest up at this house near the PokeMart. And if you need to swap out Pokemon, just stop by the lab here on the island. Heading out the Southeast will put you in a forest and there isnt much to do there yet, so we will head out the Northwest.
Nothing to do in this open field except catch unique Pokemon. When you have caught your fill, head on inside the Mountian. There is little to do in this cave except make it through the linear path and catch some more unique Pokemon. There is one split in the path but you are blocked off if you take the East path, so take the West path and continue onward. At the peak of this great mountain there is a very rare Pokemon, this is the only one you will ever see.
If you cannot handle a level 45 Pokemon than dont even bother coming up here, you will be back in this cave later, just pick it up when you are stronger. Thats it for now, Head back to Vermilion via the dock to the South.
After you hit the mainland head straight for Cerulean City, you are going to head East from there through a cutable tree. You will find yourself on. This is your first opportunity to pick up an Onix and there is a shinyizer area crossing your path near the end. There are no events to speak of in Rock Tunnel yet.
There are however a boatload of trainers and three PokeBall items on the first floor. The basement has several more trainers and two more PokeBall items. Just make your way from ladder to ladder until you find the exit and come back out to Route And one hidden item as well.
Lavender Town: Visit One Lavender Town is a depressing creepy kind of place and if you explore on your first visit you will find more questions than answers.
The only event accessible right now is the Name Rater. Spooky Plate. Her Mismagius is fast and with the field hits like a truck, so you must find a way to live a hit. Flame Charge is boosted by the field and given Ghost sub-typing, so if you use that move it may allow you to sweep. Alternatively, if you have Flash, use it! Just be aware she can turn it back by using Spectral Scream.
Now we can level up to Head into Wispy Ruins. Chapter 5: Imprisoned. Wispy Ruins - WRuins1 And head back out. The girl in the house on the right just above the Route 3 gate will give you a Super Potion, the guy on the right a Revive, and the girl on the left a Full Heal! Enter the house in the southwest and talk to the grandma to get Dusk Balls! Enter the house near the garden and talk to Snubbull! The person will let you have it now that we have 4 badges. Enter the bit of Wispy Ruins by cutting the tree next to the gym.
Step on the tile, then enter the newly opened 4-badge gate door. Inside the chest is a Big Nugget! Now, head back into Wispy Ruins. Enter the stairs and watch the scene, then go up in the cave.
After going up again, a couple of Shuppet will drop you into a pit. Our goal here is to trap all the Shuppet into corners. Head all the way north afterwards, and past another Phantump, enter the 2-badge gate. Loop back around to the middle, around where the NPC is with the crazy hair. Head up and to the right and grab the Cleanse Tag, then follow Shuppet down and up into the middle.
Get it to go back through the big loop counterclockwise, then follow it. It should now be on the upper path, so follow it right and get it to crawl into the small path in the middle, then talk to it. Go up through the center and head left to grab the Calcium.
Head up and chase the last Shuppet. For this one, get it to the platform in the upper left, then to the platform to the right, and down.
Talk to it, then return to the middle of the north side and the Shuppet will let you pass. Before climbing the ladder, go up and enter the 1-badge gate to get a Dusk Stone! Head up and through the ladder. Follow the path until you reach a larger room. Now, either proceed to the Mystery Egg side quest, or to Route 4 to continue the story. Of what we have, male Cacnea, Oddish, Bellsprout, Sunkern, Cherubi, Slugma, and Shuppet are all good choices for partners if you have them.
This will only work during the daytime, but return to the Route 3 market, and talk to the boy in front of the old man. The mystery egg is unfortunately determined as you start your save file, so it cannot be re-determined by save resetting.

Five lost kids are reachable for now:. Andrew can be found in Abandoned Sewers underneath Gearen City by crossing the first bridge north, then the first bridge west, then the first bridge down in an alcove at the bottom.
James can be found by entering Spring of Purification from Sheridan Village. Marissa can be found on Wispy Path in the upper right corner of where Espurr played with you. Matthew can be found on Route 3, the second bridge from the bottom. Cybur can be found on Route 3, next to the mystery egg vendor. Then head to the garden area to the left of the courtyard. Go up at the tree at the top, to reach a secret area. Enter the hut to talk to the crew. Back in the garden, walk up the stairs on the right to interact with the crew by the sigil. Then reenter the castle and talk to Valarie at the dining hall. Head to the battleship first. Then sneak your way through the courtyard and then the castle to reach the third floor.
Back outside enter the library and talk to the wide blue bookshelf on the left. Then talk to the bookshelf in the middle, then beat the trainer. Enter the secret garden area again and enter the hut. After a lot of scenes, head back to the secret garden and down the stairs. Push through the false wall, then again on the right. Wise Glasses. Outside, Nancy will join up with you!
Beat the guards as you go. She has a Level 65 Sylveon! Heal and swap out your party, then head in. Heal again and go through. Follow the stairs all the way up. Aelita will join your party for this next battle. Never Melt Ice. Crippling Crabominable with a burn or attack lower might be a good strategy while you clean up the left side. Anyways, just keep up the pressure and make sure the fastest mons is out, then you and Aelita should be able to win.
Soul Stone. Decimation has 20 PP and Quick Guard starts with 15, so some combination of ethers and revives is necessary. Drain its PP with Quick Guard, then watch it struggle to death! They return it to the Power Plant and the machine is once again returned to its running state.
Talking to the director inside the tower, they receive the Radio Expansion Card which allows them to listen to radio stations in Kanto as a reward for restoring power at the Power Plant. Going back north to Cerulean and the up to Route 24, the player challenges the Nugget Crew and finds Misty with her boyfriend at Cerulean Cape. Misty's boyfriend runs off angering her until she realizes that the player is indeed a challenger.
After capturing, defeating, or running away from it, the player enters and goes through the Diglett's Cave emerging on Route 2 , just south of Pewter City. The player travels south across Route 2 and through Viridian Forest before arriving at Viridian City. The player then continues south to Pallet Town and surfs to Cinnabar Island. There, the player sees Blue who mentions how the town previously found on the island was destroyed in a volcanic eruption, and that the town's Gym Leader had to relocate his Gym to the nearby Seafoam Islands.
Blue then goes back to his Gym in Viridian. The player travels east to the Seafoam Islands and finds Blaine 's Fire-type Gym within the islands and challenges him to earn the Volcano Badge. The player travels back to Viridian City and challenges Blue in his Gym, which does not seem to have any specialty in types, and defeats him to earn the Earth Badge.
The player goes back to Pallet Town and visits Professor Oak in his laboratory. Oak sees that the player has earned all of the Gym Badges in Kanto and, after giving them HM08 , decides to allow the player to enter Mt. Silver , a mountain so dangerous the average Trainer is not allowed to enter it, to challenge Red , who has been the champion of Kanto for three years and trains there constantly.
